Activities

Friday Friends

Senior citizens from the church and village meet at 2.15pm on the first Friday of each month, except January, for an afternoon of companionship and cake.

We pass the time in a variety of gentle activities ( board games, quizzes etc.) and meet for a summer lunch and Christmas party.

All welcome.

As we approach the wonderful Christmas Fair at St John’s Marsh Green, from 10-12pm on Saturday 2025 we would like to request your generous donations to help make the event a success.

With just one week to go, we are looking for prizes for the raffle, we normally create hampers so items that will create one are what we are looking for. But if you know any local businesses who would like to donate please do get in contact

[email protected]

Any contributions you can make would be greatly appreciated.

Additionally, we are seeking a variety of items for the tombola such as boxes of sweets, chocolates, bottles of wine or any other bottles, cans, biscuits toiletries.

If you have any unwanted items cluttering your drawers, please consider donating them to the bric-a-brac. However, please note that we do not accept books as they are difficult to sell.

Our cake stall is always in need of delicious donations such as cakes, biscuits, and mince pies,  as we enter the festive season.

Pat will also be running her jigsaw stall, so if you have any complete and intact jigsaws that you no longer need, please donate them. There will always be another one to buy!

Sue will be managing the teas, coffees, and mulled wine. Any donations of cakes, biscuits, or brownies would be warmly received.

We hope to see you on the day. Donations can be dropped off at the church on Sunday from 10.30-12.00, or if you prefer, please let us know, and we will arrange to collect them from you. Items can be dropped off on Friday evening between 6 PM and 8 PM, when we will be putting the final touches on the stalls.

We will have a few cash machines but please bring cash in case they don’t work!

And of course Santa will be visiting.

So something for all ages.

Thank you for your support.
